On Monday morning they performed a cardioversion successfully and he was discharged Tuesday evening 31st August. Adam will be rejoining the tour from tomorrow and is looking forward to getting back on the road.

He would especially like to thank Dr. Wolfram Von Housen, doctor Gunner, and all the resident doctors and nurses at the Bundeswehrkrankenhaus hospital in Berlin who looked after him so well.

http://www.ozzy.com/us/news/watch-%E2%80%9Clife-won%E2%80%99t-wait%E2%80%9D-now

Thursday 26th August and we’ve arrived now in the beautiful city of Prague and all geared up for the European leg of this tour.

The 6 Ozzfest shows were great although the rain at the Camden, New Jersey show and the final show in Boston meant the 2nd stage had to close early due to flooding.
Apologies also to the 200 or so people that queued in the rain to meet Gus and I at the ESP tent at these shows. Unfortunately, the weather is one thing we can’t much about!

Damian is in the studio now (back in the UK) recording his vocals for the Headspace album so it’s really taking shape now. I spoke to Gus G about possibly doing some shows together with his band Firewind so watch this space for shows next year once the HEADSPACE album is released and the Ozzy tour has come to an end!
More soon

AW blog Wednesday 18th August 2010

2 shows in now on the 6 date Ozzfest US tour and Tinley Park in Chicago last night was superb. A great show and amazing crowd. Great view from the back from this fans camera phone footage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XiPTHSPBM8

Only slight downer from last nights show is that I left my wallet in a case in the dressing room at Tinley park, which is in a truck on it’s way on a 600 mile journey to Pittsburg. This wouldn’t normally be an issue, but as we have our own plane for this tour, and my passport is having a visa put in it in New York, the news that my driving license was in my wallet was less than well received.
Trains are all sold out to Pittsburg and most of the day so far has been spent at the British Consulate here in Chicago trying to get some sort of replacement ID. This will hopefully mean I can still get on the plane tomorrow morning from Chicago. Failing that …. any fans fancy giving me a lift to Pittsburg from Chicago?

Some great HD footage here from this fan
Paranoid (with me on guitar) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Pl9lwytVQg&feature=channel

And some TV footage from the Jimmy Kimmel show in Los Angeles last week where we play on of the songs I co wrote from the album “Scream”.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8K3R7s2kDc

Great news on the Headspace progress, Damian is going into the studio next week to record vocals for the debut album. Finally things seem to be getting towards finishing the album. It’ll be worth the wait….

It’s been a pretty busy time since I’ve been over here in America. We went straight into shooting the video for the next single from the “Scream” album which is going to be ‘Life Won’t Wait”.

The parts that featured the band were shot in a Mausoleum in Alta Dina, Los Angeles which went on until 2am. Pretty spooky place to be at 2 in the morning, but very cool never the less. Needless to say, being the Prince of Darkness’s new video, it wasn’t bright lights, flowers and fairground rides which just added to the scariness!

Last couple of rehearsal run throughs over the next few days, and we’ve been trying a few new & old tracks out for Sturgis on Thursday 12th August - www.sturgis.com - which should be great. I’ve never been but I’ve heard it’s a real good laugh.

We are on the George Lopez show again next week (17th August I think) and we play another new track from the Scream album. A bit of pointless, time wasting footage filmed by me from the first trip to the TV studios can be viewed here!
www.youtube.com/headspacetheband

Just announced is that Ozzy is headlining the Voodoo festival in New Orleans at the end of October. I’ve never been to New Orleans, and seeing as though it’s the birthplace of Dr John, my musical idol - I can’t wait to pack up some gris gris and get down there…..
More to follow soon

26th July 2010

Detroit Rock City

I just arrived back from just about the fastest US visit ever done. One show at the Fillmore in Detroit for Riverfest on Sat night, flew from London Thursday back Monday morning, A lesson in “the show must go on” with local crew and sound techs on hand, nobody could foresee the roof 100 feet above the monitor board giving way to water 10 mins before doors. That then made our lives a little tricky as we had yet to actually soundcheck and people were starting to come in. Luckily we had a sound guy and monitor engineer we had never met, let alone heard any of our music so chances of this trip being worthwhile were looking slimmer by the second. I guess at that point you make the call and we decided to just go for it. I’ll be honest, not the best show we’ve done, actually far from it, but the people who had come to see us were none the wiser that we hadn’t soundchecked and I had no monitors at all, luckily the constant pulse of a Tama rhythm watch gave me some solace, albeit not the most inspiring mix, and pretty hard to sing when you can’t hear a note your singing. Hence the title seemed apt for this one, as these kind of unforeseeable cockups are the unpolished truth of rock and roll.

In other news, I am in the studio tomorrow guesting on a track for a buddy of mine singer/songwriter Aaron short, with the rest of the week working on tracks for the new album. Damian and I will be in the studio early August finishing vocals and Mr Brook has been busy hitting drums. Now time for some artwork and design and we will be looking forward to finally unleashing this album on you all. Heading back out to Denver for Mile High Festival mid August with One Eskimo, but looks to be another in and out trip so we should have a good run of time at home to finish the album.

Notable mentions on the ipod at the moment are Pain of Salvations latest Road Salt One, I love these guys, can’t stop listening to this the title track is amazing. Meshuggah’s DVD Alive is nothing short of jaw dropping, just ridiculous, a must have. Porcupine Tree’s live blu ray Anesthatise is also brilliant, very cool show. Bit pissed I was away over the weekend as High Voltage Festival was featuring Transatlantic (with Steve Hackett joining) and Opeth.

More from the studio soon

With the Ozzy tour off to a great start, a 3 week break means I can jump back into my old seat playing keys and a bit of acoustic guitar with Will Young on 8 Country House / Festivals through July. Nice to be back with Will’s band for these shows and the great British weather is not disappointing us with plenty of wind and rain for these outdoor shows!
The show on Hampsted Heath from Saturday 17th July will be aired on Radio 2 , Thursday 22nd July 2010 at 8PM.

Some tips on how to play some Ozzy tunes on keys if you are inclined!

The new album Scream - Ozzy Osbourne’s first album in three years and 10th studio album overall - has entered the charts in the Top Ten in seven countries. Beyond earning the No. 1 slot on the charts in Greece, Scream’s chart entries include: US, No. 4; Finland, NO. 3; Japan No. 4 (international chart, No. 11 on combined chart); Norway, No. 5; Canada, No. 4; and Germany, No.7. In his native England, Scream is at No. 12; it also is No. 11 in Australia.

Vocal recording starts for the Headspace album at the beginning of August too, and with Pete back in the UK for a few weeks, guitar tracks are going down as well.

No, this is not a homesick cry to my homeland but an update of where I am in the world, Sydney…Nebraska?! Yes its true, actually we are pretty much stopped at a truckstop en route to Salt Lake City but there is not much between Omaha and SLC and this is it. Shows have been going well with the One Eskimo crowd, busily working on new tracks while trying to get more guitar tracks finished for Headspace album. Never enough hours in the day it would seem. Have managed to sneak into our dayroom motel to use some interweb to download the OS4 software for iphone, look forward to that…how sad.

Unfortunately miss Adam in LA by a few days, he has been busy rehearsing with Ozzy for the last few weeks before heading back to the UK for some shows. As for the other Headspace crew, we are once again scattered around the globe. Brooky I think is still in Scotland, Damian in Cornwall and Lee on the road somewhere? The album moving slowly as ever but most of which emailed back and forth as parts are coming together. Stay tuned.

Head to LA in a few days to play more shows and cram in some studio time, flying back to the UK 2nd week of July, looking forward to some time at home. See you on the road somewhere in the States soon.

Well, it’s been a busy time with rehearsals in Los Angeles wrapping up with a one off intimate show we played Sunday 20th June at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip in LA . Tickets were being given to the first 800 people who queued up and bought the new Ozzy Osbourne album “Scream” at the Omoeba record store.

The album is released around the world today, on June 22nd.

An error in the liner notes means the first pressing will have only 4 of the 5 tracks cowritten by myself, Ozzy and Kevin Churko being credited. The 5th track “I want it more” was incorrectly labeled just “Osbourne / Churko” due to a title change at the last minute, meaning the absense of my name. This will be corrected in later pressings.

Inbetween the rehearsal schedule, we played a few Tv shows - the Jimmy Kimmel show which can be seen here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaC3b8XIPPg and today the George Lopez show, which I’m sure will be on you tube within a few hours!

We head back to the UK tomorrow for a few shows:

OZZY OSBOURNE
26th June - Birmingham town hall, UK
29th June Folkestone, UK - Leas Cliff Hall
1st July Oxford, UK - Academy
3rd July - Camden, London - Itunes festival - Roundhouse
5th July Padova, Italy - Villa Contarini
9th July - Turku, Finland - Ruisrock Festival

I will be with Will Young on the following dates of his summer tour, before the Ozzy tour starts up early August.

WILL YOUNG
15th July - Rochester Castle - Kent
16th July - Leicester / Leicester Tigers Rugby Club
17th July - Kenwood House Hampstead
23rd July - Howard Davis park, Jersey
24th July - Newton Abbot Racecourse - (South Devon festival)
25th July - Billericay / Essex Lake Meadows
31st July - Osborne Houes (Isle of Wight
1st August - Tatton Park (Cheshire)

More news soon! AW

Morning all….I’ve been out of the loop for a little while dealing with some family stuff but am now back in the land of the living.Recently, I’ve been in Croatia with Martin Fry (ABC). A real hidden gem of a country. Lovely people and beautiful scenery. The gig was on Brijuni island in some roman ruins. Now I’m back, it’s straight into the Headspace machine. The drum parts are coming along but self producing means you become more anal about parts. I send of the takes to the guys (wherever they are in the world) and they come back with any comments they may have (good or bad). Our schedules are pretty manic so this is time consuming but worth it to get the best possible sounding album we can.Now looking forward to the festival season and am pretty much booked until end of August. Thankfully some time at home to finish Headspace stuff in the week then 3 festivals at weekends. Busy time but thats the way uhuh uhuh we like it.

Saturday 29th May - Los Angeles.

Day 6 of rehearsals for the upcoming Ozzy world tour and all good so far.
Great being back in LA for the month and trying out some new gear to use on the shows. Some new additions to my rig would be the Korg Stage Vintage 1 which is sounding cool, A Yamaha Motif XS8 and a new endorsement from “Bolt” guitar amps which sounds superb. www.boltamps.com/pages/artists.html

It’s great playing some guitar on this tour, especially as a lot of the early Sabbath stuff generally didn’t have much in the way of keyboard parts. My guitar was made by Martin Dowding, a luthier who only makes a guitar every 2 years or so. Named by Martin as “demelza”, it is made in the style of a 1959 Les Paul and even has his own design and hand wound pick ups. Here’s hoping for more Sabbath tunes in the set so i get to play it more…!

The new Ozzy album “SCREAM” is released worldwide on 22nd June 2010 and has 5 songs I co wrote with Ozzy and Kevin Churko, the Grammy nominated producer who also produced “Black Rain”, Ozzy’s platinum selling album from 2007.

Tour dates can be found here www.ozzy.com as they are announced. We’ll go to most Countries on this tour so keep an eye out to see if we’re near you!

If you are in the US, keep an eye out for us on some main stream TV chat shows coming up in the 3rd week of June.

Headspace recording continues whilst I’m away with Pete, Lee & Rich all recording in between their other commitments. Keep an eye out in Classic Rock magazine for a tribute track recorded by Headspace due out in July….

More to follow from me once the tour starts….
